Gun for Glory shooting range in Bhubaneswar inaugurated in city June 9th 2015
Pune based Gun for Glory shooting academy has been inaugurated its new centre in the city here on Tuesday, the shooting range is having 10 ranges.
This shooting range is the seventh franchise centre of the Gun for Glory (GFG) academy. The academy here has ten lanes in the 10 meter air rifle and air pistol range.
GFG managed by the international repute shooter Padma Shree and Khel Ratna Awardee Gagan Narang had expressed his strong desire to open different academy in throughout the country. He would promote the sports in the nock and corner of the country. Odisha is having lot of potential in shooting but need proper infrastructure and training to groom them international standard Odisha Rifle Association secretary Hari Prasad Pattanaik inaugurated the shooting range in presence of international shooter and Gun For Glory student Sriyanka Sadangi . Among others, Amrik Singh and franchise co owner Gurbachan Singh and Renu Choudhuray were present.
Gun for Glory Bhubaneswar centre felicitated its plays on Monday here, who bagged medals in the in the 5th Gagan Narang Shooting Championship was held in Balewadi Stadium in Pune from 6 to 13 Sept 2015.
Shooter Rakesh Parida topped in two qualifying categories and won open category with a gold medal and received cash award of Rs 25,000.
Harsheen Kaur grabbed silver medal in the women category & Asit Kumar Biswal got scholarship. Total 50 players of the country got the scholarship among them Asit was from Odisha. .
